OMORI

OMORI

    OVERVIEW

OMORI is a psychological horror RPG that makes a strong impression through its blend of pixel art and hand-drawn illustrations. Pixel art renders the game world and characters, while hand-drawn illustrations depict battles, item imagery, and key cutscenes.

The protagonist is a boy named Sunny who suffers from depression. Sunny and his friends become lost in a fantasy world. By overcoming their fears, they explore this realm to uncover terrifying secrets that have long been buried.

    Characters

    • Omori is Sunny's alter ego in the fantasy world. Players control Omori in the "White Space" area and Sunny in the "Faraway" area. When leading the party, Omori can use his knife to cut through obstacles.
    • Kel is a friend of Omori. As the party leader, he can throw his ball at objects that are otherwise inaccessible to the rest of the group.
    • Aubrey is a member of Omori's party. When leading the group, she can use her bat to smash through obstacles.
    • Hero is a member of Omori's party. As the party leader, he can persuade others to assist the group.

    GAMEPLAY

OMORI features a turn-based combat system. When a character makes physical contact with an enemy on the map, the game automatically transitions to battle mode. Omori and his friends appear at the four corners of the battle screen. A red bar beneath each character indicates their health; if this bar is depleted, they are "toasted" (defeated). Regarding emotions, each member of the Omori group begins in a neutral state and can shift to being happy, sad, or angry. These emotions significantly impact battle outcomes by altering character attributes; for instance, "happy" boosts luck but lowers accuracy, while "angry" increases attack power at the cost of defense.

The game does not assign specific missions to the player. Instead, you accompany Omori and his friends on a journey to explore a fantasy world, solving puzzles, battling fears, and making key decisions that drive the story forward.
